SeattleInsider: Meet the Emerald Cities Green Darner

It’s one of the largest of its kind, has huge eyes, a life span of one month and a long slender blue abdomen that earned it the name “darner” as it resembles that of a darner needle.

It’s also Washington state’s insect.

The Green Darner Dragonfly can be seen most in the Emerald City (and beyond!) starting in the Spring. That's now!
