Pedestrian injured after being struck by ambulance

SEATTLE — A pedestrian was injured Saturday night after being hit by an ambulance, police said.

The incident happened before 9 p.m. in the 1900 block of Boren Avenue.

According to police, an SUV stopped for a pedestrian crossing the roadway. As the pedestrian crossed, the side mirror of an AMR ambulance struck the pedestrian’s head.

Police said the driver of the vehicle was evaluated and determined she was not impaired. She was released from the scene.

Medics took the pedestrian had serious head injuries and he was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

Authorities will continue to investigate the incident.
