EVERETT, Wash. — Bus rates for Everett Transit could soon double.
According to the Everett Herald, Everett Transit is proposing increasing all fares starting in January.
If approved, all adult and para-transit fares would increase to $2 by 2020.
Fares for seniors and people with disabilities would rise to 50 cents.
Youth fares would be $1.
The fare increases would be done in increments of 25 cents every six months until the new rates are reached, according to the Herald.
The boost would generate an estimated $2.1 million in revenue over five years.
Community Transit fares also are rising by 25 cents beginning in October.
