FRIDAY HARBOR, Wash. — U.S. Coast Guard crews were called to Friday Harbor about 6:30 p.m. Sunday to aid a 47-foot sailboat that ran aground, severely injuring two people.
When a rescue boat crew arrived, they found the vessel taking on water with four people on board, officials said.
The Coast Guard crew pumped the water out of the sailboat, patched its hull and escorted it back to shore.

The injured boaters were then checked out by waiting EMTs and airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, the Coast Guard said.
No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the incident is under investigation.
