Motorcyclist injured in North Seattle crash

SEATTLE — A motorcyclist was injured in a collision Sunday morning in North Seattle, police said.

The collision happened at about 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of North 122nd Street and Greenwood Avenue North.

Police said an officer tried to stop a motorcyclist that was traveling at a high rate of speed, but the motorcyclist failed to stop.

Crews responded to the scene and medics took the motorcyclist, who is believed to be in his 20s, to Harborview Medical Center.

When the motorcyclist tried to turn onto southbound Greenwood Avenue North, he collided with a pickup truck traveling northbound.

The driver and a passenger in the pickup truck were not injured and declined medical attention.

Police will continue to investigate the crash.
