Medics airlift boy hit by bus in Ferndale

FERNDALE, Wash. — A 7-year-old boy was flown to Harborview Medical Center after he was struck by a bus in Ferndale Thursday.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the boy exited the bus at his stop at 4283 Lummi Shore Drive.

The boy walked in front of the bus and then the bus driver drove on, rolling the bus over the boy.

The boy was listed in serious condition as of Friday morning, according to a nursing supervisor at Harborview Medical Center.

The accident report cites driver inattention as the cause of the incident.

The accident remains under investigation.
