Man stabbed in downtown Seattle

SEATTLE — Seattle police were called to the site of a stabbing in the 1500 block of Third Avenue shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Medics took a man in his 30s with multiple stab wounds to Harborview Medical Center. A Seattle Fire Department spokesperson said that he was in critical condition.

Police said that he had been stabbed several times in the torso and that his injuries were life-threatening.

The assailant remained at large. Police described him as a thin black man with medium skin, 20 to 25 years old and 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat with a red insignia, a red shirt, a brown hooded sweater with black lettering and black pants.

According to the police, the victim knew the man who stabbed him and the stabbing did not appear to be random.

Traffic was delayed on Third Avenue between Pike Street and Pine Street.
