TACOMA, Wash. — People visiting Dune Peninsula on a sunny fall day say the idea of having free outdoor concerts here is something they like.
"I think that would be a great venue," said Heather Washington. "Beautiful scenery, easy to get to, all for it."

The charity funds events every year around the country.
"I think free outdoor concerts would be a great asset," said Jeri Chaney.
Getting concerts on Dune Peninsula depends on getting a grant from the Mortimer and Mimi Levitt Foundation.
Getting the grants would mean 10 free outdoor concerts, but only if people in Tacoma vote to bring them here.

Metro Parks Tacoma is running a social media campaign to encourage votes.
Online voting began Nov. 1 and runs until Nov. 20.
