It happened in the 14500 block of 444th in the Riverbend community at 3:40 a.m. Tuesday.
The couple said they moved to North Bend six months ago and had an arborist coming out Tuesday to remove problem trees on their property, including the one that fell.
The couple told KIRO 7 the tree snapped about halfway up and then fell through the roof and into their bedroom as they were sleeping. The tree, which came crashing down just above their bed, was only stopped by a section of drywall, otherwise they could have been hit.
The home was badly damaged by the tree, but will be covered by insurance.
Neighbors on both sides of the home where the tree fell said they have had trees fall onto their homes in the past as well.
