As shoppers head out to stores this week, a new study says two out of three drivers will be distracted as they look for a parking space.
Video from last month showed of a driver losing control and slamming into nine vehicles in a parking lot.
The insurance industry says one out of five crashes actually happen in parking lots.
As a result, they tend to be more distracted.
Experts say drivers get a false sense of security in parking lots because they aren't going that fast.
A recent survey found:
- 66 percent of people were comfortable making a phone call in a parking lot
- More than half said they would text and email
- 42 percent said they were comfortable video chatting while driving in a parking lot
