Crews are searching for a 24-year-old man who jumped in the water at Eagle Falls near Index and didn't resurface.
Several units responded just after 4 p.m. Monday.
After an extended search of the area, the man was not located, the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office said.
Operations were suspended for the night and will resume Tuesday morning.
Crews said the rescue effort turned into a recovery.
