SEATTLE — Northbound Interstate 5 in Seattle just north of State Route 520 was closed after a cement truck rolled over and spilled a portion of its load, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The crash happened at 8:19 a.m. Friday near the East Roanoke Street overpass and caused huge backups for nearly 2 hours.
All lanes reopened at about 11:10 a.m.
At 10:30 a.m., traffic was backed up 6 miles to South Seattle.
At times, traffic was getting by in the left lane. The westbound SR 520 offramp to northbound I-5 was also closed.
The Washington State Department of Transportation switched the I-5 express lanes to northbound early to help dissipate traffic.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash and no one was hurt.
