Police seeking suspect after 14-year-old shot in Des Moines

DES MOINES, Wash. — An investigation is underway after a 14-year-old boy was shot in Des Moines on Sunday morning.

At about 7:18 a.m., officers with the Des Moines Police Department were dispatched after receiving multiple reports of shots fired in the 22800 block of 30th Avenue South.

Police arrived at the scene within a minute and found the 14-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. Officers immediately began performing lifesaving measures.

Police do not yet have any additional information on the incident or a suspect description.

He was transported to Harborview Medical Center and was in stable condition as of Sunday afternoon, according to Detective Sergeant Scott Oak.
