Police: Man fires at woman before fatally shooting himself

SEATTLE — Seattle police are investigating after a man tried to shoot a woman before fatally shooting himself on Tuesday afternoon at a housing services facility in the Central District.

According to investigators, at about 1:15 p.m., the man met with the woman in a courtyard of a building in the 100 block of 23rd Avenue and threatened her.

Police said he pulled out a gun and fired at her, but she got away without any injuries.

When officers arrived, they found the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said the man then shot himself.

The investigation remains ongoing.
