Man in his 70s fires gunshots at Thurston County deputies

YELM, Wash. — Police say a man was arrested after firing gunshots at Thurston County deputies in Yelm Saturday.

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office first tweeted about the incident near the 16000 block of Chuckawa Lane Southeast at 5:19 p.m.

A SWAT team was called to the scene.

No shots were fired by law enforcement, and no one was hurt.

At 5:40 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office said the suspect, a man in his 70s, was arrested for investigation of multiple counts of first-degree assault.
