Man drowns after boat flips on Deep Lake, deputies say

KING COUNTY, Wash. — A 37-year-old man fishing with his son on Deep Lake drowned after his boat flipped and he fell in Thursday afternoon, King County deputies said.

The event happened after 2 p.m. in the 36900 block of Veazie-Cumberland Road Southeast.

Authorities said the victim was pulled from the water and medics performed lifesaving measures, but he died at the scene.

The drowning is under investigation.

The man and his son were not wearing life jackets, deputies said. The boy was not injured.
