Man critically hurt in shooting in Seattle’s Mount Baker neighborhood

SEATTLE — A man was badly hurt in a drive-by shooting in Seattle’s Mount Baker neighborhood early Friday.

Seattle police were called to the 3800 block of Letitia Avenue South at 12:50 a.m. after a report of gunfire in the area.

Officers found an 18-year-old man who had been shot several times.

Witnesses said the victim had just gotten out of a car when someone drove up and started shooting.

The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

Police said witnesses were unable to give officers a description of the shooter because they took cover during the gunfire.

Detectives found several shell casings and are searching the area for evidence or surveillance video.
