Man arrested in Burien fatal shooting

BURIEN, Wash. — A 45-year-old man has been arrested in the shooting death of a 56-year-old man in Burien.

A driver heard a gunshot and then spotted the victim lying on the shoulder of the road in the 13600 block of First Avenue South at about 1 a.m. Sunday, according to deputies.

A man in dark clothing was seen running away from the scene. A search by officers and a K-9 unit came up empty.

The suspect, Towle Baker Leichliter, was arrested Wednesday for possible second-degree murder charges and booked into the King County Jail.

The victim, a Seattle man, was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition, but later died from his injuries. His name has not been released.
