Pierce County, Wash. — Following the tragic shooting of Pierce County Sheriff's Deputy Daniel McCartney, the Pierce County community is rallying together in support of their local law enforcement agencies on #LawEnforcementAppreciationDay.

On Tuesday, KIRO 7's Patranya Bhoolsuwan shared a story of kindness as two women with Boss Mama's Food Truck, based in Puyallup, came to Tacoma to donate lunch bags for Pierce County Sheriff's Deputies ahead of the procession for Deputy McCartney.

"There's three little boys and a wife, and I feel so bad for them. Right now they need the community to come together and help them out as much as possible," Boss Mama's Kitchen owner Jen Gustin said.

A procession was held Deputy McCartney on Tuesday afternoon, as his body was escorted from the Medical Examiner in Tacoma to Mountain View in Lakewood. Click here to view photos.

A legacy fund for Deputy McCartney has been set up by the Pierce County Sheriff's Department. Proceeds will go directly to Deputy McCartney's wife and three sons. Donations can be made online by clicking here, or in-person at any TAPCO Credit Union.
