SEATTLE — The University of Washington marching band had something special planned for the start of the Apple Cup on Friday.
The band spelled out "THANKS" on the field in honor of Washington State University playing UW's fight song last year when a bus carrying the students crashed on the way to Pullman, prevented them from going to the game.

UW's bus rolled over near George last year, sending dozens to the hospital for evaluation.
