Good Samaritans, firefighters rush to help motorcyclist trapped under vehicle

SEATTLE — Multiple people rushed to help a motorcyclist who was pinned under a van after a crash Thursday night in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood.

The crash happened in the 2400 block of Northwest Market Street.

Authorities tell KIRO 7 a minivan was going westbound on Market and tried to make a U-turn. An oncoming motorcycle collided with the van.

About eight people rushed to the van and tried to lift it up.

The rider was trapped under the van.

When crews arrived, firefighters freed the trapped motorcyclist.

The 30-year-old man was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
