Fire erupts at Bremerton scrap metal yard

BREMERTON, Wash. — Firefighters have put out a fire at a Bremerton scrap metal yard, where smoke was seen billowing in the air.

South Kitsap Fire & Rescue first tweeted about the fire at Navy City Metals, 3587 W. Belfair Valley Road, at 12:25 p.m. Thursday.

Crews tweeted just before 3:30 p.m. that the fire was out, but they were remaining on the scene to mop up any hot spots.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

No one was injured, as the fire was limited to a scrap pile and three boxes used for storage, firefighters said.
