SEATTLE — Police say a Central District home was targeted in a drive-by shooting early Monday, leaving a 96-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her leg.

Officers were called to reports of shots fired in the 900 block of 27th Avenue at about 12:45 a.m. but were not able to find any suspects or property damage.

At about 4:50 am, police were again called to the same block, this time by the victim’s granddaughter, who reported her grandmother had been shot in the leg.

Seattle fire medics arrived and treated the woman and then transported her to Harborview Medical Center. Her injury was believed to be non-life-threatening.

Investigators say officers have been called to the home on numerous occasions to investigate shootings and other crimes targeting other family members who live at the home.

Officers recovered shell casings from in front of the house.  Gang Unit detectives are investigating.
