SEATTLE — Twelve people were arrested Tuesday during a drug emphasis patrol in downtown Seattle.
Police said the patrol focused on the Yesler Way and Pike Street areas of Third Avenue.

“During the emphasis, bicycle officers also noticed a man near 2nd Avenue and Pike attacking pedestrians with a meat cleaver and a stick and quickly took him into custody,” Seattle police wrote in a blotter post.
Officers said they seized crack cocaine, methamphetamine and heroin.
A car associated with one of the arrests was also impounded and officers applied for a search warrant, police said.

Police said there were no injuries and the man who attempted to attack people with a meat cleaver was booked into the King County Jail on investigation of felony assault.
In total, police said they seized over $1,000 during the arrests.
