Construction worker, driver injured in I-5 crash

STANWOOD, Wash. — Two people were injured Wednesday night in a collision on Interstate 5, north of Stanwood.

The crash happened at Starbird Road on I-5.

Troopers said witnesses reported a Toyota Tundra was driving erratically before it crashed into a construction truck, which was blocking the left lane for road work.

A worker in the construction truck had minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

According to troopers, the pickup struck the rear end of the construction truck.

The driver of the pickup was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with possible life-threatening injuries.

It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
