Officials said a team with the Sheriff's Office was able to find the man's body after water levels dropped in the Skokomish River.

The Sheriff's Office tweeted he will be going home.

It was believed the soldier had lost his footing on a nearly vertical hillside, slid while grasping for tree branches and fell into the river.
