KENT, Wash. — Firefighters were at the scene of a home burning in an isolated area in Kent.
The fire at the abandoned home in the 22300 block of Russell Road South broke out about 5:20 a.m. Friday.
When crews arrived, the second floor was engulfed in flames. Firefighters were able to check the first floor to make sure no one was inside.

Because the home had been boarded up, firefighters had difficulty getting water onto the center of the fire on the second floor.
The fire was allowed to burn through the roof to create a hole, which then could be used to get water inside.
Fire officials said that according to several people, people had been seen climbing over the fence surrounding the property and a fire crew reported that a sliding glass door appeared to have been forced open prior to their arrival.
Firefighters said because of the amount of damage the fire has done, it’s doubtful they'll be able to determine the cause of the fire.
No injuries were reported.
