Injured skier rescued at Stevens Pass

SNOHOMISH, Wash. — The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office’s helicopter helped rescue an injured skier Saturday at Stevens Pass.

Ski patrol at Stevens Pass responded to an injured back-country skier who was outside the pass’ ski area boundaries.

The skier suffered serious injuries after losing a ski and falling about 100 yards.

The skier was brought up and taken to Providence Hospital in Everett. The skier’s condition is unknown at this time.

When a helicopter with the sheriff’s office arrived, a rescue technician was lowered down to help ski patrol with the injured skier.
