KENMORE, Wash. — Bastyr University students walking the wooded trails near the Kenmore school Thursday came across some bones they thought might be human remains.

King County Sheriff’s Office major crimes detectives responded and confirmed that the bones, which included a skull, were human.

The remains were transported to the King County Medical Examiner's Office for examination and identification.

Detectives were at the scene Friday afternoon searching for evidence near Northeast 143rd Street and Juanita Drive Northeast.

The Medical Examiner's Office said the remains are those of a male.
