Alert neighbor leads officers to body in car

SHORELINE, Wash. — A 911 call from a Shoreline resident who noticed a vehicle pulled over on the side of the road for several hours sparked a suspicious death investigation overnight.

Officers with the Shoreline Police Department responded to the area of 5th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 174th Street sometime around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

They found a red, two-door Honda Accord with its hazard lights on, pulled over on the side of Northeast 174th Street.

Investigators said it was still too early to know if they are dealing with a homicide or a suicide but they said a weapon was not in plain sight.

The driver's side window open about 6 inches and officers could see the body of a man inside a car.

A homicide detective was waiting on a search warrant to begin the investigation inside of the vehicle. By 4:30 a.m., the King County Medical Examiner's Office had arrived.
