Fire damages 2 Newcastle homes

NEWCASTLE, Wash. — Two homes in Newcastle were damaged Saturday afternoon by fires, according to the Bellevue Fire Department.

Officials said a fire broke out at one home and wind caused the fire to spread onto the house next to it.

Bellevue, Eastside, Renton and Mercer Island firefighters responded to the scene.

Crews were able to control the fires.

Firefighters were ordered to evacuate the house because it was too dangerous to battle it.

All firefighters were accounted for, and no one was inside of the home during the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
