REDMOND, Wash. — A woman who Redmond police described as a “prolific criminal offender known to all Eastside agencies” was arrested in a parking lot Tuesday night.

Witnesses were startled when a Bellevue officer accidentally fired his gun during the arrest, but no one was hurt.

Bellevue plainclothes officers were helping Kirkland police track a woman with numerous felony warrants when they found her in a car in a parking lot in Bear Creek Village just before 6 p.m.

When a Bellevue officer jumped in to break up the dog fight, he accidentally fired a gunshot into the pavement.

When officers removed her from the car and took her into custody, a dog inside the car jumped out and attacked another dog that was nearby, according to Redmond police.

Redmond police were not involved but are investigating.

Redmond police detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them at 425-556-2500 or police@redmond.gov.
