TUKWILA, Wash. — A power pole was smashed overnight by a driver who told police he was chasing an owl.
The driver lost control in Tukwila, while following the bird about 2 a.m.
The driver was apparently going 45 mph on South 150th Street.
His vehicle became wedged between a tree and the pole, taking down lines with it.

He said before he slammed through a home’s metal gate and hit a power pole in the 4600 block, he was chasing the owl.
The electric lines only feed one house, so utility workers are going to wait until later Wednesday morning to come out and replace the pole.
Police did not arrest the driver who they say was not under the influence.
