Decomposed body found in Pierce County

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — Authorities are investigating the scene of where a decomposed body was found Friday morning in east Pierce County.

According to detectives, the body was found off the road in a steep ravine in the Summit-Waller area.

Detectives told KIRO 7 the body was mostly skeletal remains and appeared to have been dumped at the location.

The identity of the body has not been determined.

The Pierce County medical examiner used climbing gear to reach the body.
