Police say fire at Beacon Hill home arson

SEATTLE — Firefighters battled a basement fire at a home in Seattle’s Beacon Hill neighborhood Tuesday afternoon that Seattle police said was arson.

Seattle fire said the home was near Boeing field in the 2900 block of 2921 South Austin Street.

Video from Chopper 7 showed smoke coming from the basement and roof, where a hole had been cut to vent the fire.

It is not known if anyone was hurt.

Helicopter video showed a huge hole that appeared to have been burned in the side of the house.  Some flames were visible.

Seattle police arson detectives and the Seattle Fire Department are investigating.
