Coast Guard crews search for man in water near Bainbridge Island

BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, Wash. — Coast Guard crews are looking for a 54-year-old man in the waters of Rich Passage near Bainbridge Island Monday night.

At about 6:30 p.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Puget Sound received an initial report from Bainbridge Island police that a 15-foot empty boat was found adrift.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found a fishing pole and an open tackle box.

The man’s wife confirmed that his truck and trailer were still parked at the Port Orchard Marina boat ramp.

The man was reportedly wearing blue jeans, a sweatshirt and not wearing a lifejacket.
