14-year-old pedestrian struck by teenage driver

OLYMPIA, Wash. — Thurston County deputies were called to what was believed to be a  hit-and-run crash in which a child was struck by a car in Olympia.

The crash happened in the 7000 block of Mullen Road Southeast about 7:20 a.m. Monday.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, a 14-year-old was walking to school on a dark and winding road when he was struck by a 17-year-old girl who was driving to Timberline High School at 6120 Mullen Road Southeast.

Authorities said once the girl reached the school, she ran in and told staff she thought she hit someone.
