SEATTLE — Three people charged in Seattle's May Day mayhem pleaded "not guilty" to rioting charges in court Monday.

Four men and a woman were charged last week after Seattle police asked the public to help identify vandals who targeted downtown businesses.

On Monday, Jason Michaels, Meaghnn Gonzales and Matthew Erickson pleaded "not guilty."

Police said anarchists were to blame for the violence and infiltrated what was supposed to be a peaceful demonstration.

One suspect did not appear in court because he is school in China. A fifth suspect was a no-show.  A warrant was issued for his arrest.
