Two bicyclists riding in the annual Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic were injured Saturday morning in separate crashes.
Police told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News the first incident happened on Eastlake Avenue East near Fuhrman Avenue when a rider hit a center curb and landed on the pavement.
Medics took the bicyclist to a hospital at the University of Washington. The rider’s condition is unknown.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the bicyclist was hit by a vehicle.
The second incident happened on State Route 507 near Roy.
The bicyclist was taken to a hospital with a possible broken ankle and minor abrasions.
Thousands of bicyclists started the ride at the University of Washington, and the 200-mile ride will finish at Holladay Park in Portland.
