REDMOND, Wash. — A 12-year-old boy was killed in an accidental hanging at a home near Redmond.

The child was found hanging from a helmet or a strap in what appeared to be a zip line that was purchased and installed.

A King County Sheriff's Office spokesman says it happened in the 8800 block of 255th Northeast.

Investigators are currently at the location processing the scene.

Sgt. Cindi West of the King County Sheriff's Office told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Alison Grande the boy's mother left the house to look for him, and when she went out, she looked up and saw her son hanging.
