1 man dead, another hurt in Kent crash

KENT, Wash. — Kent police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a crash that killed one man and injured another early Friday.

Police said the driver went off the road in the 9200 block of South 208th Street around 4 a.m. and hit a tree.

Medics worked to revive the driver, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said there was no evidence the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or that he was driving too fast.

The male passenger in the SUV was transported to a nearby hospital.

"This appears to be a tragic accident that will leave all who were involved devastated,” said Kent police Sgt. Jarod Kasner.
