Thousands of screws, nails spill onto SR 16 ramp in Tacoma

TACOMA, Wash. — Crews spent Tuesday night cleaning up thousands of screws and nails that spilled on the westbound ramp of State Route 16 ramp to Sprague Avenue in Tacoma.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Brooke Bova tweeted to alert drivers who may have driven on the ramp to check their tires.

A WSDOT sweeper was brought in to help clean up.

Troopers did not say how the nails and screws got on the roadway.
