Parkland homicide victim identified

PARKLAND, Wash. — The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting in Parkland that left them with a large crime scene.

Neighbors called 911 at 4:35 a.m. Wednesday to report sounds of fighting and gunfire.

Shell casings were found in one parking lot.  The victim was found dead of gunshot wounds in another lot across the street.

Officials identified the homicide victim Wednesday as 38-year-old Lorenzo Parks of Spanaway. His next of kin had been notified.

The crime forced investigators to close a major arterial, Pacific Avenue, after it left them with a huge crime scene. The investigation is focused near Tule Lake Road South and 125th Street South.

A forensics team is using a 3D scanner to map the crime scene, where numerous evidence markers have been placed.

No one has been arrested and there are no suspects.
