Woman reports being groped on Burke-Gilman Trail at UW

SEATTLE — The University of Washington police are warning of a groping incident that happened on the Burke-Gilman Trail Sunday morning.

Police said a 21-year-old woman was walking the trail west of Mercer Court and reported she was groped.

She told police a man approached her from behind and grabbed her butt. She then tried to walk away and he continued alongside her and touched her chest.

Police said she told him to leave her alone and was able to get away.

Police said he has a dark complexion, 30 to 40 years old and 5-feet 10-inches tall, with dark brown or black curly shoulder-length hair. He is reported to smell of cigarette smoke with a thick beard.
