SEATTLE — Crews are preparing for another stretch of roadwork along Denny Way.
Starting at 9 a.m. Monday, there will be alternating lane closures both westbound and eastbound on Denny between Fairview and Stewart.
The closures will run until about 3 p.m. every day this week.
During the closures, crews will be cutting into the road and then repaving it.
Some of the work has already been happening over the weekend.
The closures are part of the ongoing project by Seattle City Light to build its first new substation in 30 years.
The Seattle Department Transportation says the most traffic impact will be during the afternoon commute for drivers heading to I-5 or Capitol Hill.
Drivers should allow extra time because the alternate routes, including Mercer, will be even more jammed than normal.
