Man shot and killed in Tacoma parking lot

TACOMA, Wash. — Tacoma police are investigating after a man was fatally shot Thursday night.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 2600 block of N. Pearl Street after 8:30 p.m.

When police arrived to the scene, they found a man in his 30s had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, an altercation occurred in the parking lot and then a shot was fired.

Police told KIRO 7 they’re investigating the incident as a homicide.

During a news briefing, police did not have any suspect information.

The suspect and victim may have known each other, but it is not confirmed.

Detectives are interviewing witnesses and the investigation is on going.
