Man in custody after making threat on ferry

SEATTLE — A man was taken into custody by Washington State Patrol troopers Friday evening after he made a threat on a ferry at the Colman Dock terminal on the Seattle waterfront.

The incident happened on the passenger deck of the ferry Puyallup.

According to officials with the Washington State Ferries, the man boarded the vessel when it was docked. He was complaining and said he was supposed to get off at Bainbridge Island.

The man then became agitated and threatened, "I'm going to have to shoot somebody."

He was taken into custody without incident by Washington State Patrol and escorted off the vessel. It's unknown if he walked on or drove on the ferry.

WSP is the agency that oversees ferries.

The incident caused the Puyallup to depart 30 minutes late. The incident also impacted the 6:20 p.m. sailing from Seattle and 7:10 p.m. sailing from Bainbridge Island.
