Detectives look for driver in fatal Auburn hit-and-run

The vehicle is described as a white 2006 Ford Crown Victoria that's missing its front bumper, its driver's side mirror and has a broken windshield.

AUBURN, Wash. — Detectives are asking the public for more information in a hit-and-run that killed a 39-year-old man early Sunday morning in Auburn.

Before 4 a.m., troopers responded to a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle on the southbound lanes of State Route 167 to westbound State Route 18.

Troopers said Stanley Christopher was walking on the shoulder lane with a friend as they were on their way to get gas.

A vehicle drove on to the shoulder lane, struck and killed Christopher, Troopers said. It is unkonwn if the friend was hit.

With witness information and evidence at the scene, detectives said they are looking for a white 2006 Ford Crown Victoria, with a missing front bumper, broken windshield and a missing driver’s side mirror.

Anyone with information is urged to call 911 and advise the dispatcher you have located the vehicle Washington State Patrol is seeking.
