Amber alert canceled after boy, suspects found in Yakima area

YAKIMA, Wash. — An Amber Alert issued for a 19-month-old has been canceled after the boy and the two suspects were found in the Yakima area.

Police say Leonnel Barajas was taken by his uncle, 23-year-old Manuel C. Mendoza. Mendoza broke down the back door of the boy's home, pointed a gun and took the child.

Mendoza was taken into custody in the Yakima area at about 6 a.m.

Jessica Mendoza, the boy's mother, was found with Barajas in the Yakima area at about 8 a.m.

The child had been living with his father.

There was some kind of custody dispute and police are trying to determine who has actual custody of the child.
