As part of Seafair's annual Fleet Week, a variety of majestic vessels will arrived in in Elliott Bay Tuesday afternoon.
The Fleet will make its entrance into Elliott Bay accompanied by the spray of the Seattle Fire Department boat.
Naval vessels from the United States Navy Third Fleet, United States Coast Guard and the Canadian Maritime Forces will arrive from around the world for a five-day visit to Seattle. The U.S. Navy band will be playing at Pier 66 as the ships come in.
Ships include:
U.S. Navy: USS Somerset - Amphibious Transport Dock
USS Gridley - Guided Missile Destroyer
U.S. Coast Guard: USCGC Active - Medium Endurance Cutter
Royal Canadian Navy: HMCS Saskatoon - Kingston-class Coastal Defence Vessel
More Fleet Week Festivities
Wednesday: Search and Rescue Demonstration
On Wednesday, the Coast Guard will give a search and rescue demonstration in Elliott Bay and along the Seattle waterfront from 1:40 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Audio narration is provided at Pier 66.
Wednesday through Sunday: Public Ship Tours
The public can take advantage of the opportunity to tour U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and Royal
Canadian Navy ships participating in Seafair Fleet Week.
The tours are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis at Piers 66, 69 and 90.
